Mikali Smith is a MSW graduate student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Her goal is to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a speciality in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.She enjoys working with children helping them achieve their goals.
My name is Azia Barnes and I'm from Wilson, NC. I graduated from North Carolina A&T State University with a bachelors in child development and family studies. After graduating with my bachelors I then continued my education at Savannah State University where I received my masters in social work. I relocated to Charlotte, NC in the summer of 2021 and began my career as a social worker at Gaston County Department of Social Services. Later I discovered my passion in clinical social work and I began my career as a Mental health/substance abuse counselor, specializing in ages 5 to 65 and older. I am a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, I enjoy fashion, traveling, and spending time with my family and friends. I'm excited and truly take pride in working with each and everyone of you all!
Mrs. Natasha Georges holds a Master degree of Social Work from the University at Albany in New York. She is currently a licensed clinical social worker in the state of New York and North Carolina. She received her certification in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy by the NC Child and Treatment Program. Prior to becoming a full time clinician she worked for three years at a residential facility with youth aged five to twelve. Natasha’s experience included working with children and families in New York cities therapeutic foster boarding home programs. She later was promoted to senior therapeutic social worker and later program supervisor. A large part of
Natasha’s career has included serving children and families, facilitating groups, and providing therapy services. She has also assisted in developing programs, facilitating organization wide meetings, developing training modules as well as providing clinical consultations to fellow social workers. Currently, Natasha serves in the capacity of clinical therapist as well as mental health counselor for a fitness and wellness company and continues to remain abreast of industry changes through leisure studies and networking.
Dr. Harrington has a positive, compassionate, and enthusiastic personality, and brings 15+ years’ experience and a special brand of empathy to her work. Dr. Harrington holds a Doctoral degree of Social Work from the University of Southern California. She is also a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate and Licensed Clinical Social Worker certified in evidence-based treatment such as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Parent Child Interaction Therapy. Dr. Harrington is the owner and clinical director of Stride Services, Charlotte N.C. She has a passion for innovation and influencing change to decrease the number of a) abused children, b) adverse childhood experiences, c) individuals entering the criminal justice system, d) intergenerational transmission of trauma. Dr. Harrington is also a university-level educator and researcher, with a focus on cultivating the role of evidence-based clinical practice intervention, decreasing implementation gaps, and improving outcomes of the economically disadvantaged. Dr. Harrington has extensive skills and a specialty in parenting and trauma work. She has a talent for utilizing a strengths-based approach in assessment, development, and implementation of effective interventions. Dr. Harrington is pursuing her passion and helping families across generations decrease intergenerational transmission of trauma.
